Found the company listed online. When I called to set an appointment, I explained to the intake person that I had replaced the broken gear and sprocket on the opener, and it appeared the limit switch had also been damaged. The rep advised me that all common parts for Sears, Liftmaster and other major brands were on the technician's vehicles and he could replace it if needed. When the tech arrived, he looked at the opener, did his 25 point safety inspection, and provided a quote for over $400 (springs, pulleys, labor, etc.) He did not have the limit switch kit on his vehicle and was going to have to charge another trip charge to install the $17 part if he came back. I ordered the part online, bought new springs with safety cables and completed the process for less than $50. Not very happy with the fact the rep stated the parts should be on the tech's truck, but was not, and then was given an extremely high quote.

What you have here is a company that comes in and swings for the fences. They tell you that you NEED to replace all components. I’m a project manager for a home builder and let them talk. Had a 70 dollar torsion spring that needed to be replaced and the initial estimate was over a grand. Don’t use this company.

First off, David Bell came by since I had made an appointment to fix the door. Come to find out that it would be best just to install new doors. A $0.78 piece of 1"x2"x6' lumber ended up costing me over $600. My garage door repair was not an after hours emergency, so I used the 'online chat' after hours to schedule a service call for the next day. The system is very user-friendly and I had a confirmed appointment for 8-10am the next morning. I received a call from Joshua Kesler (Field Service Manager) to let me know when he was about half an hour away. Joshua is very professional, courteous, friendly, and thorough in his explanation of what will be involved in the repair and the expected cost. Joshua performed an inspection, made the repair, and tested the functionality of the garage door's operation. Unfortunately, I was informed the main tension springs would need to be replaced because of the hazards in winding old (existing) springs. This accounted for 2/3 of the cost of the entire repair. The parts cost seemed a bit high, but the overall service was exceptional. I will recommend Precision to friends and neighbors.
